Sie glänzen. sehen super aus und sind zur Zeit Mode, Latex Leggings!
Lern hier im Tutorial wie man sie ganz einfach selbst machen kann. Folge einfach diesen elf Schritten. Kommentare und Fragen sind willkommen!
Dann lass uns beginnen!
Du benötigst: Gummilösung, Waschbenzin oder Heptan, Lineale, Pinsel od. Wattestäbchen, Paintmarker und ca. 3m Latex (depending on how tall etc. you are) in 0.3mm and a longer Latexstrip in 0.6mm.
1. Entwerfe ein Schnittmuster
Fertige eine Skizze an. Dies wird dir helfen einen Überblick zu behalten welche Maße du benötigen wirst und wie der Schnitt am Ende ungefähr auszusehen hat.
2. Nimm dein Maß
Wir benötigen hier die Taille, Hüfte und Beine für die Leggings. Siehe hier wie man richtig Maß nimmt und welche Beinmaße benötigt werden.
3. Übertrage dein Schnittmuster auf Karton/Papier
Siehe hier wie dein Latex Leggings Schnittmuster aussehen sollte. Es spielt keine Rolle welche Art von Papier/Karton du benutzt für dein Schnittmuster. Ich kaufe normaler weise einfach eine große Rolle Auslegepapier für MAler aus dem Baumarkt, diese sind in verschiedenen Stärken erhältlich. Welche Stärke du benutzt ist absolut dir überlassen. Das was zählt ist das du damit arbeiten kannst. Um die Kurven richtig anzupassen benutze ich das Burmester Set (French curves).
4. Schneide das Schnittmuster aus
Erschrecke dich nicht wenn die Beine ziemlich groß aussehen sollten, das erscheint meist nur so!
5. Übertrage dein Schnittmuster aufs Latex
Lege dein fertiges Schnittmuster aus Latex auf und zeichne an der Kante entlang. Die Leggings besteht hier aus 4 Teilen, eine Vorder – und Rückseite für jedes Bein. Nimm die Vorderseite vom Bein deiner Leggings und zeichne um diese herum, nun flip sie einmal um und zeichne die Vorderseite des zweiten Beins auf das Latex. Nun hast du die Vorderseiten für beide Beine. Mach genau das gleiche mit der Rückseite für die Beine. Ich beutze hier einen Silber farbenden Paintmarker.
6. Schneide das Latex zurecht und säuber es
Schneide die angezeichneten Latexteile aus und entferne danach die Markierungen von deinem Paintmarker mit dem Reiniger (Waschbenzin, Heptan). Sollte das Latex stark eingepudert sein von der Produktion, dann empfehle ich dir das abzuwaschen oder mit einem nassen Tuch abzuwischen. (Um sicher zu stellen das dir später nichts auf den frisch aufgetragenen Kleber kommt bei arbeiten, da du ds Puder ganz leicht auf die Naht übertargen könntest sofern du es an den Fingern hast.
Tips zu beachten:
- Erlaube dem Latex sich selbst wieder gerade zu legen nachdem du den Kleber aufgetragen hast (Ich benutze hier die Gummilösung)
- Dehne das Latex nicht! Du kannst überall ziehen, aber nicht dort wo du die Nähte gerade zusammen klebst. Etwas Übung hilft.
- Halte deinen Arbeitsplatz sauber damit kein überschüssigen Kleber auf der Arbeitsplatte mit dem Latex zusammen klebt.
- Habe ein paar kleine Gewichte zur Hand, die dir helfen damit das Latex nicht hin und her rutsch. Eine Pinzette ist hilfreich bei kleinen Unfällen.
7. Klebe die Nähte zusammen
Beginne mit den äußeren Nähten der Beine. Nimm die Vorder und Rückseite eines Beines. Achte darauf das du die richtigen Teile nimmst und nicht durcheinander kommst. Kontrolliere genau nach glatter und rauher Seite.
Nun säubere die Naht gut mit dem Waschbenzin oder Heptan und alle verbleibenden Partikel zu entfernen. Trage den Kleber auf die Naht beider Latexteile auf.
Um das richtig zu stellen, du trägst den Kleber auf dem Vorderteil auf der rauhen Seite des Latex auf und auf dem Hinterteil trägst du ihn auf der glatten Seite auf, so das du am Ende das Vordertail auf das Hinterteil klebst.
Du beginnst an Taille zu kleben und arbeitest dich weiter am Bein herunter, damit du hinterher evtl. überstehendes Latex abschneiden kannst nachdem du fertig bist mit dem kleben. Nachdem du die Nähte zusammen geklebt hast kannst du mit deinem Finger leicht druck auf der Naht aufüben und dann deinen Nahtroller dazu benutzen um eine starke Bindung ziwschen den beiden Teilen zu schaffen. Mach das gleiche mit dem anderen Bein.
So sollte deine Leggings nun aussehen.
8. Klebe den Schritt zusammen
OK, das könnte für einige etwas schwierig werden durch die extreme Kurve. Aber ich bin mir sicher dass das mit etwas Gedult auch gelingt.
Als erstes kleben wir den Schritt der Vorderseite zusammen! Die Nähte müssen wieder gesäubert werden und der Kleber sollte auf beiden Nähten aufgetragen werden.
Diesmal wird nicht in der Taille begonnen, sondern am anderen Ende, direkt im Schritt wo die tiefeste Kurve ist, so dass du zum Schluss überstehendes am geraden Taillenende abschneiden kannst.
Wiederhole den Vorgang mit dem Schritt vom Hinterteil der Leggings.
9. Klebe die Innenseite der Beine
Du bist so gut wie fertig, es fehlen nur noch die Innerseiten der Leggings! Beginne damit dir die Leggings richtig auf deiner Arbeitsplatte richtig hinzulegen, so dass die Beine gespreizt liegen. Das macht es einfacher alles auf einmal zu säuber und den Kleber aufzutragen ohne die Leggings umherschieben zu müssen.
Trage den Kleber vollständig auf ein Bein auf und ca. 10-15cm auf dem zweiten Bein. Nachdem das Latex sich wieder gerade gelegt hat, beginnst du im Schritt und klebst dich weiter durch bis zum Beinende.
Damit das zweite Bein, wo ich den Kleber nur teilweise aufgetragen habe, nicht plötzlich irgendwie zusammen klebt, lege ich ein Gewicht o.ä. wie einfach meinen Rollschneider dazwischen.
Nachdem ich das erste Bein zusammengeklebt habe, trage ich den Kleber auf das restliche zweite Bein auf und arbeite mich wieder zum Beinende durch.Der Grund dafür warum ich diese 10-15cm auf zweite Bein gleich am Anfang auftrage ist, dass wenn ich das zweite Bein zusammen klebe einen besseren und einfacheren Ausgangspunkt zum zusammen kleben habe. Dies ist natürlich aber jedem selbst überlassen. Da gibt es keine Vorschrift, es muss einfach nur für dich selbst funktionieren.
10. Taillenband
Du benötigts ein 4cm (1.6″) breites Latexband mit der länge der Taillenweite deiner Leggings.
Das Latexband sollte dicker sein als das Latex deiner Leggings, damit es fähig ist deine Leggings oben zu halten wenn du sie trägst. Ich benutzte für mein Taillenband 0.6mm Latex.
Hier beginnst du mit dem kleben in der Mitte der Rückseite deiner Leggings, dort wo du schon eine Naht hast und arbeitest dich dann herum bis du wieder in der Mitte ankommst.
Das Taillenband wird aussen auf die Leggings draufgeklebt, nicht innen in die Leggings!
Wenn du dir unsicher sein solltes ob deine Leggings evtl. zu hoch geschnitten sein könnte, dann kannst du jetzt gern ganz vorsichtig deine Leggings einmal überprobieren. Benutze Talkumpuder um leichter herein zu kommen. Du kannst aber auch ganz einfach nocheinmal nachmessen ob alles stimmt. Sollte sie zu hochgeschnitten sein dann kannst du bevor du das Taillenband einklebst gern etwas abschneiden.
11. Verstärkungen
Verstärkungen werden dort eingesetzt wo der stärkste Zug auf deine Leggings ausgeübt wird, das wäre in diesem Fall im Schritt und am Beinende.
Nachdem das erledigt ist solltest nun fertig sein!
Falls nötig säuber deine Leggings, poliere sie und schlüpf rein!

This is a really amazing project and I hope, you will go on with it. Actually the first one since the old “Rubber Hans” http://www.geocities.com/rubberhans/ which ich shareing the knowledge. Techniques doing latex clothes are often kept a secret and seen as voodoo magic.
Regarding the example on how to make your own leggings, there is ONE problem. How to get from the measurements to the pattern, unless you are an educated designer or tailor? Unfortunetly, this step is missing.
I just took a look at some leggings, I own. They are constructed of TWO parts, only. So they do not have an outer leg seam. What is the benefit of doing it with four parts?

I run a fetish site and am trying desperatly to make my own latex clothing.
I have emailed you Kitty, with some questions. Idid buy a book- on making latex clothing but its no good to me – so i sent it back. i need proper patterns and step by step diagrams. The book just gave names of adhering latex with glue, phrases for cutting and then pretty pictures of ladies in latex outfits. Its not very good- i dont recommend it unless your a dress maker.
I would happily like to see some simple patterns to use on latex sheets.
otherwise its very difficult to gadge whats what.
I hve to make clothing for my fans to- and i cant obviousy meet them and measure them. i have to go by their measurements.
Id like to learn more….and miss Kitty is the best

For making the pattern of the legging I found an interesting webtool that might make this step much easier for many. A pattern generator!! You can find it at: http://www.patternschool.com/ under “Lazy People Stuff”, just enter your measurements, and out comes your pattern!! (I haven’t tried it yet, I must admit … )

Hi.
The shine on pictures appears sometimes stronger, especially if you take pictures with a flashlight.
If you shine moulded latex it wont be as shiny as glued latex. Reason, the colors are not the same, they dont contain the same amount of pigments and reflect light not as good.
Best example is a moulded black T-shirt, which is more likely to be a dark grey then a strong black.
Of course there are also some products like a few good and shiny moulded gloves which are great in color.
How I shine:
Well, I have something called latex polish. What you put on a sponge and then massage into the latex. Gives a nice shine, but its not super shiny.
If I want it to be super shiny then I use the waterbases silicone oil. Like the dressing aid from Pjur or the bodyglide.
Just apply it with your hand on the latex. Done! SHINY!

Yes there is if you make tight fitting clothing like leggings or underwear. Men obviously need more space. That means you need to glue in an extra piece to create that space. I will make a tutorial on mens underwear, there you will see what to do.

Also did this tutorial with mixed results but still a big smile on my face just for the fact of actually completing something so seemingly complicated. Despite almost breaking down and crying after I split my leggings the first time in construction and then almost banging my head against a wall the second time they split when trying them on for fit, I am happy. Despite those two major incidents I would have been able to complete the leggings in approx. six hours. Not too bad.
Anyway, the one problem I had I think is a result of my pattern. I followed your guide and the fit is perfect but for some reason the ‘front’ pieces (of the four pieces of the garment) curve evenly towards the inseam and the back pieces curve towards the outer seams. It does look pretty cool and the leggings are still comfortable but wondering what you can suggest might be the problem. On my pattern the pieces certainly seem straight similar to your design.

I received my sheet order from radical this week, and started with the leggings. Off course after some pratice.
Leggings fit ok, look ok, but the pattern making is the most difficult and off cource the glueing.

The instructions etc are great but I wish that people would stop refering to the numerous images of stars and fashionisters wearing streach pvc, “zentai” and cire leggings as “latex leggings” as 95% of those images are not latex!! Close inspection should show that to people who actually wear latex…
Having said that, yes real latex leggings look great and well done in showing how to make your own…
And as small note yes I make latex clothing.. I sell to personal clients plus a shop called reactor rubber in Australia (I make the kilts, teady bears, full figure bras and 4 strap cincher top…)

I noticed that on the pattern above it says you reduced the size by 8% to keep the leggings tight, just wondering where I could find out information on stretch percentage for other thicknesses of latex?

there is actually no such chart. But some basics are: Thin latex is good for really tight things and things you want to stretch.
Thick latex is not the best choice for really tight things ( I talk about a gauge of 0.50mm and higher), it is just not as soft body hugging as latex with a gauge of 0.30mm.
Example: If I try to make my leggings out of 0.4 or 0.5 then I should forget about trying to stretch the material like that. It would pinch me in the knees and probably cut of my blood circulation.

Hello Latexkitty. I love what you have done here! It’s awsome! But what I was wondering was, when I took a look at your picture I noticed you have managed to pull the latex leggings 100% tight in the crotch, even behind. Is that because of how you made the leggings, or what method do you use to put them on? I think the leggings look so much better when they are all the way up, giving no air-space in the crotch.
