making-latex-clothing-beginner-kitNow, thanks to Elastica Engineering, you can have everything you need to get started doing your own latex clothing in one box.

The $39.95 latex clothing beginner kit includes:

  • 2 x half yard of Latex
  • Latex glue – 50ml
  • Rotary cutter
  • Roller
  • Small cutting pad
  • Glue thinner/latex cleaner – 100ml
  • Seam cleaning cloth
  • Glue brush
  • Gel pen
  • Latex shiner sample – 50ml

While this will definitely give a lot of aspiring new latex crafters a good start at making latex clothing, I highly recommend that you get a acrylic/plexiglass sheet for bigger working area, a larger rotary cutter and some latex milk for gluing thin latex and attaching cotton to latex.

  4. Slinka Says:

    No,

Kink Engineereing is located in Canada. Sorry.

  6. Kink Engineering Says:

We do ship to the UK.

We have now sourced some larger rotary cutters (45mm blade) and are adding 5 NEW colours to our website on Saturday!

    Cheers,
    Kinkengineering.

  7. Kink Engineering Says:

P.s. the larger cutter means a bit of a price bump to go with… the kit is now priced at $49.95

It’s still a great deal for everything you need to start making your own latex stuff in one box.

Once you have tried it out, you will no doubt build your own tool kit with exactly the tools that you like best, but we wanted to offer you a good, simple and cheap way to get your hands dirty with building latex.

    Cheers,
    Kinkengineering.

Will be happy when i get to try out all the items this friday.

Also it makes me smile that i think KinkEngineering used my set as the example pic.

How shipping with our kits (and to be sent out digitally to all of our customers so far) some further instructions on usage, glue mixing, glue sourcing, etc.

We’ve decided that it’s practically enviro-terrorism to order mass quantities of glue, re-package it, and re-redistribute it to you (think of all the gas used in shipping!) So, the kits will still have enough glue and thinner to get a feel for how things work AND we’ll tell you how to get your own glue locally.

…and if you want to keep buying our latex that would be nice. :)

It would be nice if they included a simple project pattern such as a half apron with ruffled edges.

    Hi,
I ordered this kit recently to help get me started. Together with this blog, everything is coming along great! Thanks so much, I am so happy with my results so far and I have a ton more ideas I can’t wait to try.

My question is this: the supply of adhesive that came with my kit has almost been used up. My kit didn’t include the link to the instructions download, so I am not sure how to go about finding more glue, etc. I have been able to find more rotary blades and such, but I can’t locate the seam cleaner or glue. (I live in North America, if that information is needed for ordering supplies.)

  14. Kink Engineering Says:

Lola – drop me an email at info@kinkengineering.com and I’ll send you the link for the kit document.

The glue that we use is just a 1:1 mix of bestine best-test rubber cement and bestine thinner. The “seam prep” is just the thinner. You should be able to get it at any art supply store.
