latexkittyvalentinedayFirst of all I want to thank you for all of your great comments and e-mails. I am happy to see that so many of you want to be a part of makinglatexclothing.com and contribute to it. The first week has been amazing!

I am still working my way through your e-mails and try to answer them, so please be patient if you havent heard from me yet.

Today I tried to create a inflatable rubber item for the very first time. I thought it was fun to experiment with something new and since it is Valentines Day, I decided it would be fun to make a big inflatable rubber heart.

As you can see on my Valentines Card I made it and I can tell you I had a lot of with it! I am already looking forward to many other fun inflatable projects in the future.

I hope you all had a great Valentines Day and spend some time with your loved one!

Lovely work on the inflatable valentine heart. What kind of inflation valve did you use, and any tips for how to do the final closing of the last seam? Inflatables are something that require a lot of trial and error to learn the ins and outs of…..you should do a tutorial on those techniques (attaching inflatable valves and closing seams on inflatables). Keep up the good work!

I’m interested in getting a latex bedsheet. What thickness of latex would you recommend? Would 0.33mm be suitable, or would something thicker like .4, .45 or .5 be a better idea?

    Awesome!
    I love your blog.:)

Out of my own experience I would recommend for a bedsheet 0.5/0.6.

I just used a regular bicycle valve. I went to a bike shop and askes if they have some old/ punctured bicycle tubes, they would anyway throw them out. So you get them for free! :) I cut them out, sand them down, washed them and used the mineral spirit to get rest off. Ready to glue in! But Blackstyle sells some nice ones which are ready to glue in! Tutorials about inflatable items will come in future, I want to experiment some more with it! :)
